With the passage of HB294, owners of residential rental property are required to register for all residential units with the county auditor. This new requirement will centralize and standardize information regarding residential rental units in Van Wert County.

Owners of residential rental property are required to register such properties by providing the information requested on the RESIDENTIAL RENTAL PROPERTY REGISTRATION FORM (in .pdf format). If a corporation or some other business entity owns the residential rental property, the information must be provided for an officer, partner, manager, trustee, or associate. Owners residing outside the State of Ohio must designate an Agent for the property who must be at least 18 years of age and may reside anywhere in the State.

Please print and mail the completed form to the address indicated at the top of the form. Additional properties may be listed on the reverse of the form or an attached sheets. It should be emphasized that although the County Auditor has this information, the Auditor is not an enforcement officer.
